Cozy up after a day on the river and an evening at Pulpit Rock Brewing Company.
The Decorah House stay occupies the second floor of our renovated solid brick house. The space is airy, full of natural light, and sits perched overlooking the Oneota Valley.
The unit consists of a large living area with attached kitchen, bedroom and bath. In the main living space you'll find two repro retro barrel chairs with accompanying hand made shaker style walnut end tables, a sugar maple butcher block dining room table made from flooring from a local landmark school, and Persian rugs. The floors are beautiful reclaimed douglas fir.
The kitchen has a high quality stainless steel gas range, small refrigerator, and deep-basin stainless steel sink. The white oak butcher block countertops and sugar maple cabinets were hand made by Paul in the second floor workshop of our log house garage. The kitchen is stocked with cookware. We also supply organic coffee and teas.
The bedroom is spacious and overlooks the forested bluffs of the Oneota Valley. The bedroom has a firm queen bed, a reading area, and clothes closet. A third person can be accommodated on a blow up air mattress. Linens and bedding are provided.

The spacious bath has a floor to ceiling subway tile shower. The bathroom flooring is Marmoleum, a traditional 19th century petroleum free, linseed oil-based linoleum made to look like marble. The hand made vanity is sugar maple with a white oak butcher block top. Bath towels are provided.
A final thing to note: We live a few blocks from the race track. Races take place most Saturdays during the summer and are done by 10pm. It can get annoying, but if the windows are closed it's manageable. We want to make sure you understand.
